FLD6 Fundraising Letter (PDF)

Section: Sponsorship Opportunities / May 16, 2009
Providing a safe place for our children, off the streets and out of trouble, requires our leagues and District to reach-out to the families and businesses in our community and beyond to help raise the funds necessary to meet our substantial budgets.

Without these kind and generous contributions, our District and leagues could not operate. It is only through our fundraising efforts and your contributions that our programs continue each year.

If you can find a place in your heart and budget to help our programs continue, any amount will help.

Please help our District and leagues continue to serve and provide programs to the children of our community. Your tax-deductible contribution will go a long-way in helping us do so.

Why Become A Little League Sponsor ?

Section: Sponsorship Opportunities / April 02, 2009
Little League Florida District 6 helps over 1,000 unpaid volunteers in Tampa & Hillsborough County serve and provide baseball & softball programs for over 4,000 children (ages 4-18) annually.

As a Chartered Little League District, your Sponsorships and Contributions to FLD6 are tax-deductible to our non-profit organization.

Our budget goal is $50,000 per year and is 100% funded by the generosity of your CONTRIBUTIONS and SPONSORSHIPS. Our expenses range from Administration of the District (staff-presidents-coaches-rules meetings, website, eNewsletters, office supplies, etc.) to Tournament Operations for the Tournament of Champions and All-Stars (baseballs, softballs, trophies, medals, pins, score books, travel, team contributions, umpire assistance, etc.). If we do not meet our budget goal, it effects the level of service we can provide to the players, coaches, and leagues of FLD6.

To find out more about how you can Sponsor our Little Leaguers or make a tax-deductible Contribution, visit the "SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES" section of this website.

FLD6 Post-Season Tournament Registration

Section: FLD6 - LTR-TOC, Leagues, News - FL District 6, FLD6 Calendar / May 10, 2010
MONDAY MAY 10, 2010

There is a shortage of leagues that will host our TOC tournament this year. Many of the divisional brackets have not been posted because not enough leagues have volunteered to host the TOC games for 2010.

We know what leagues want to participate so we can develop a bracket... we simply do not know where the games will be played. Obviously, if no FLD6 leagues are willing to host the games, no games can be played.

Fortunately there is a Presidents Meeting on Wednesday May 12, 2010 and we will decide as a district how to handle the lack of host leagues this year.

One idea to take the stress off our leagues and their volunteers is to consider playing the TOC as a "single elimination" tournament.

Single elimination reduces the number of fields needed to play, leagues that need to host, league volunteers needed to operate the tournament (concession, field prep, volunteer food, oversight), umpires to officiate, and District Staff. After a full regular season, the league volunteers needed to successfully host a TOC tournament are hard to obtain because they need a break before hosting All-Stars.

District 13, our neighbors to the East play a single elimination TOC for these reasons. If no host leagues are found for certain divisions, we will have no choice but to cancel the games for that division or play a "single elimination" tournament.

UPDATE Monday May 9, 2010 - We have the registrations from the leagues and we are finalizing the TOC brackets (both pool-play and single elimination). We will post the brackets when they are complete. Bracket positions will be selected by the league presidents on Wednesday the the Presidents Meeting.
